Say goodbye to pyros in TF2

Category: Uncategorized

Today’s update to TF2 brought a few gifts for everyone and a hard blow to the Pyros. First off shooting through the gates is no longer possible (thankfully) and engineer buildings now have a gear symbol behind their health bar to denote they are a building at a quick glance (best part of update imo, i frequently as medic see a red bar in a group of people, spent 10 seconds looking for them only to realize it was an engis building.) but the most shocking of all is the revesal of the +50 health for the pyro using the backburner.

That for me was one of the main ’selling points’ for a pyro, the extra 50 health got you to places you couldn’t before, but now I think it is going to be more like the old pyro - not played.

Army of Two - Revision 1

Category: Guns, Laser Skirmish

Please not this is the amended version. The unamended version contains an unedited version of the events, for complete historical accuracy. To access the unamended version, you will need the password found in this post. The original version is available here.

This has been changed due to pressure about naming the player and location of the events. I would like to clarify that the original post is in no way harassment, or a threat to the player, and that the recollection of events does not fall under any slander and libel laws. Some people however believe that in the event that this was to get serious these things may have legal standing (to clarify, they do not). I have fixed this to keep these people happy. Also of special mention is that “player” seems to recall these events very differently, one quite notable exception which I will publish here is that she apparently did not go to the birds nest (ref. station).

Several other people disagree with her recollection. A detailed recollection of these events follows:
I went outside with my partner; I vented. We went back inside, only about 45-60 seconds had passed since the end of the game at this point. We went back into the arena to look at the scores, and made out way upstairs. “player” was already looking the the scores, so we stood behind her and waited. She looked up from the scores and told the ref. “Next time watch the fucking guns, xxxxx.”[1] She then jumped/stomped from the ref. station to the mezzanine, then left the arena slamming both the arena door and main doors on her way out.

[1] This quote is not verbatim, there may be some discrepancies with the wording; however it accurately conveys the tone and negativity expressed towards the ref. The reason I did not quote this in the original version is that I could not reproduce it 100%, and was avoiding any accusations of fallacies.

Last night was week 2 of AoT, and my Partner in the game and I owned, to say the least. That however, was not without cost, “Player†as usual had a problem, and that problem for the night was me.

Telstra HipTop Slide

Category: Computers

So I decided to sign-up for the telstra hiptop slide yesterday, here are my thoughts on the device and service:

First off the hiptop is a cool little device. It is sleek and looks good, as well as the design being highly functional; the OS is also stylish and a pleasure to use; and the deal you get is unbeatable* (unlimited text, mms, email, web browsing and instant messaging, all for $30 ($60 including handset repayments)) however not all is as good as it seems, there are few things I think potential buyers should be warned about:

Audio-Surf - Extended Beta (The shady way)

Please note this is another one of those annoying draft posts, I have merely put it up so you may see how I found out the file to copy for an “extended beta”. Spelling mistakes and bad grammar follow; read on at your own peril. A simple guide for unlocking the beta can be found here
